Mike leads NZPork's policy and issues work programme, advising on and advocating for policy settings that support the sustainability and success of pig farmers in New Zealand.
He has 15 years of experience in the public and private sector, working across agricultural policy development, applied science and innovation, and rural stakeholder engagement.
His expertise includes assessing the impacts of policy and regulatory proposals on agricultural businesses and rural communities in New Zealand.
Mike has held senior roles at AgResearch, Lincoln University, DairyNZ, and most recently, at the Ministry for Primary Industries as a senior policy advisor in the policy and trade branch.
He has a PhD and Master of Applied Science from Lincoln University.
