Stockpersons Piggery

We are seeking 2 full-time Stockpersons to join our team at our modern West Eyreton site of 1150 sows, farrow to finish running a 2 weekly batch system. Applicants to have 6 months' pig farming or similar experience.

The company is a leader in the industry with1500 sow, modern, high tech, high health, farrow to finish, indoor piggery business with 2 sites located within 50 minutes of Christchurch.

This position is working within a high performing and motivated team of 6 full time staff and assisting with all aspects of care, hygiene and management within the farm, with specialisation depending on experience. Hours for the role are 530a-230p on market days or 7am-4pm.

You will be required to assist in all areas of the farm as required, including:

• Feeding and vaccinating
• Accurate artificial insemination and animal health record keeping
• Farrowing and weaning
• Washing/cleaning
• Moving stock of all ages
• Actively maintaining and improving biosecurity and health & safety.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be legally able to work in New Zealand
• Have an eye for detail and meticulous record keeping
• Possess a willingness to learn and be flexible
• Have an excellent level of spoken and written English language
• Be physically fit
• Be a team player and able to follow instructions.

Preference will be given to candidates already residing in New Zealand.

• Regular rostered hours with a minimum of 35 hours per week and a maximum of 88 hours per fortnight, this may include weekends
