Senior Stockperson – Piggery Finishing Unit

Situated in Feilding, Manawatu, Ratanui is an integrated farming unit - breeding and finishing pigs alongside lamb and beef finishing and cropping. The farm is high performing - always striving to exceed output targets through strong strategy, excellent animal welfare and great teamwork.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Piggery Stockperson to join the team in our finishing unit, working with our approx. 3,500 growing pigs. 

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the team with the daily supervision and management of weaner and grower pigs, including operating our automated feed system, monitoring pig health and undertaking facility hygiene
• Working within a successful, motivated team, minimum 40 hours per week, as well as some rostered weekend work and sole charge at times
• Maintaining high standards of animal welfare, environmental stewardship and a proactive attitude to Health and Safety.

This full-time, permanent position will suit someone with Pork Industry or other relevant NZQCF Level 4 Qualification, as is qualifications or experience working with machinery. At least three years relevant experience may substitute for the formal education.

We offer a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications (min $35 per hour, max $38 per hour), as well as ongoing training and career development opportunities.
